What is telemedicine?

Telemedicine at Louisiana Heart and Vascular includes virtual medical care via a phone or tablet. Your provider offers medical evaluations, medical history reviews, diagnoses, and treatments without you having to leave home. While you will need in-person visits in some instances, telemedicine is often appropriate.

What should I expect during telemedicine appointments?

Our providers call you during your scheduled telemedicine appointment time. They review your medical history, symptoms, and the reasons for your visit. If needed, they complete a virtual physical exam by reviewing your signs of illness or disease.

You might need diagnostic testing, such as flu, strep, blood tests; imaging procedures; or other tests to diagnose potential problems, treat them, or ensure your current treatment works effectively.

What are my treatment options?

To treat an illness or a chronic disease, our providers offer various options. They provide lifestyle-change counseling, medication prescriptions, and recommendations for home remedies. You might need injections or medical procedures in some cases or care from a specialist after a referral from one of our providers.
