About Zain Kassam, MD, FACC
Dr. Zain Kassam is a highly skilled and established physician with over 10 years of patient care experience. After medical school, he was accepted into the prestigious Lenox Hill Hospital-Northwell Health, where he completed his medical training. Additionally, Dr Kassam continued to complete highly specialized fellowships in Advanced Cardiac Imaging, Cardiovascular Disease, and Interventional Cardiology. During his comprehensive training, Dr Kassam has had numerous publications in highly regarded medical journals like the Journal of American College of Cardiology, Circulation, and European Heart Journal.
Upon completing his fellowships, he relocated to the Northshore, joining the team at Louisiana Heart and Vascular (LHVI).
As a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association, Dr. Kassam currently holds board certifications in: Internal medicine, Cardiovascular disease, Echocardiography, Nuclear cardiology, and Cardiac Computed Tomography.
Dr. Kassam specializes in interventions such as Complex Coronary Interventions, Trans-radial Coronary Interventions, Trans-pedal Peripheral arterial interventions, Iliac artery interventions,
Peripheral Endovascular Interventions including renal and carotid artery stenting, Critical Limb Ischemia Interventions (CLI), Varicose Vein Treatment, and Symptomatic Venous Insufficiency Interventions/Vein Ablations.
Dr. Kassam not only specializes in interventions of coronary and other vascular disease beds, he also manages patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular diseases, cardiac-oncology, and cardiac prevention. Dr Kassam truly believes in the mantra – “complete revascularization begins outside the cardiac catheterization with prevention and aggressive risk factor modification!”; following this he is heralding the preventive cardiology program at LHVI.
Outside of medicine, Dr Kassam enjoys sports including Tennis, Soccer, and Golf. He loves to travel and enjoys good healthy food.
