Katie received her Bachelor of Science with a concentration in Kinesiology, from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, LA in 2017. She then earned a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University in Baton Rouge, LA in 2022.
She was the recipient of the Franciscan Student Award for her cohort class. Before joining Louisiana Heart and Vascular Institute, Katie worked for approximately one year in an urgent care setting as a lead provider. During clinical, she gained experience in multiple specialties including inpatient pediatrics, emergency medicine, women’s health, psychiatry, family medicine, orthopedics, general surgery, pediatric hematology/oncology, and dermatology.
Katie’s favorite clinical rotation was family medicine/primary care because it created the opportunity to establish ongoing relationships with patients on a one-on-one level and provided the ability to see results from medical interventions.
Katie is board-certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
