About Mrs. Hoffman

Jo Hoffman is an Adult Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and has been with Louisiana Heart & Vascular since 2019.

Jo attended the University of Southern Mississippi where she received a BS degree in communications. After working in the field for a few years, she realized that she needed to go back to school and pursue becoming a registered nurse (RN). She attended Charity School of nursing and graduated in 1995. It was in her first job at Ochsner ER where she learned that cardiology was the specialty she was passionate about. After a short time in pediatric critical care, she transitioned to adults and has been working in adult critical care since 2000. She first met Dr. Aduli in the intensive care unit (ICU) at St Tammany hospital. After hurricane Katrina, she relocated to Flower Mound Texas, a suburb of Dallas. There she worked in several different hospitals doing emergency medicine and critical care.

Jo spent most of her career working at University Texas South Western (UTSW) in the cardiovascular ICU. There she cared for heart and lung transplant patients along with being a preceptor for new nurses. After working as a RN for 20 years she returned to school and graduated August 2015 from University of Texas, Arlington with a Master of Nursing, certified Nurse Practitioner (NP). For the next 4 years she worked as an NP in cardiology as well as Pulmonary Critical Care in the hospital setting until coming on staff with Louisiana Heart and Vascular Institute in 2019 until present. Jo is certified as an emergency room nurse and a certified critical care nurse. She was also awarded as one of the Great 100 Nurses in 2014.
